ZenMug auction predicted to smash all records!
28 July 2006: Rochdale-based ISP (Internet Service Provider), Zen Internet is looking to smash all records with its 3rd annual charity ZenMug eBay auction. This year's auction will see Zen offer six limited edition black ZenMugs with a black and silver mug-tree and the ISP is looking to raise the highest amount in the history of the company event.
As in previous years the auction will once again be in support of the MS Society, a charity that Zen has built up an excellent relationship with through various fundraising events. The auction began on 27th July and will run for 10-days, with the winning bidder also being invited to Zen’s impressive HQ building in Rochdale to have lunch with representatives of Zen and the MS Society.
The mugs come with a certificate to authenticate that they are the first 6 black ZenMugs to be produced, with two of Zen’s popular black pens also included in the auction.
Stephen Dykes, ZenPartner Programme Team Leader and organiser of the auction commented:
"This charity event has turned into something of an annual institution at Zen and last year's was a huge success raising £100 for the MS charity with a couple of regular mugs, pens and lanyards thanks to Alistair Kimbell of Gold ZenPartner, Picard Solutions. We added the lunch element as an after-thought to last year’s auction but this proved to be a huge hit for all those involved so we are now including this as a feature."
The Zen Charity mug auction started in 2004 when a single mug raised over £60. Then in 2005 the auction was for two mugs, some pens and some Zen lanyards. The eventual winner, Alastair Kimbell of ZenPartner Picard Solutions, bid £97 to win the auction but rounded it up to £100 to meet Zen’s goal to get into 3 figures. This year with the limited edition mugs and over 200 Zen staff to spread the word, the aim is to increase this record even further in support of the MS Society.
